IS THIS HOME SAFE FOR BABIES AND YOUNG CHILDREN?
Tamba PraNa has a swimming pool that does not have a fence closing it off from the rest of the villa and so can be accessed at all times. If you are travelling with non-swimmers we ask you to exercise caution. Those who wish to stay with young children will be asked to sign a disclaimer upon booking stating that they take full responsibility for the safety of all guests and that they will not hold the owners of the villa liable for any accidents.
In addition, there are 2 dogs at the property: Soudi and Unabala; both have been vaccinated and castrated and are very pleasant but dog and child interactions always come with some level of risk. The dogs live outdoors are taken care of by the housekeeper.

Dogs are very much part of Sri Lankan life - there are 2 million street dogs in Sri Lanka and so most responsible home owners have adopted at least one in order to give them a better life.

WHAT DOES "TAMBA PRANA" MEAN?
Tamba is part of the original name for Sri Lanka. When one of the first Indian kings stepped foot onto the soil of Sri Lanka he was startled at its red colour and called the island "Tambapanni" which means literally "Copper Earth".
PraNa is the Buddhist word for the vital energy (sometimes described as "life giving breath") that nourishes us all.

"Tamba PraNa" translates as "Copper Soul" and honours the cultural roots of Sri Lanka whilst also conveying the beauty and relaxed, calming position of the villa and the feeling that envelopes you when there.
